On Sunday, August 14th - from Noon until 1:30pm - there will be a special Camilla d'Errico Helmetgril Cosplay Walkoff, where prizes, like original art, will be given out!

The 'Womanthology' Collection - Although the book from IDW will not be published for a few more months, several contributors will be attending SDCC, and no doubt people will be talking about the successful funding of the all-female anthology, profits of which will be donated to charity.

New T-Shirts, Handbags, & Products - Following the conclusion of SDCC, Camilla d'Errico will have a brand-new online store that will feature new shirts, bags, prints, and other products. Some of these items will be available at Booth #4723, and can be purchased before the general public.

  • Color Ink Book at San Diego Comic-Con

Posted on July 14, 2011 by Camilla

The announcements for San Diego Comic-Con keep on coming! Today, we're happy to announce that Camilla will be the cover artist for the latest Color Ink Book! We've teased the cover image before, but now we're able to show the world the finished design!

If you don't know about the project, Color Ink Book is a special black and white collection for people to color their own D.I.Y. images from a series of professional artists. It's a really great product, and just look at only a few of the amazing covers that have come out in previous editions:

In the latest volume, Camilla will have at least twelve of her classic black and white art pieces that can be colored and customized, including a special black and white version of the cover image itself. The exact titles of all the works are super secret for now, but one will be Crocodile Fisherman, which first debuted at Meltdown Comics in Los Angeles. If you forgot what the image looks like, here it is:

The Color Ink Book will be available at SDCC, but only at booth 5569 because the collection will not be on-sale until sometime in August! So, those attending have the chance to get the jump on a copy before the public. Lucky! If you have trouble finding a copy, come see us at booth 4723 and we'll point you in the right direction. ^_^

Camilla will be doing a signing of the book and her cover at the Color Ink Book table, booth 5569, on Sunday, July 24th, at 11:00am if you would like to get your hands on this special, advance release. And without further delay, here is the final image of the Color Ink Book, titled "Wireseat," along with the full cover treatment. Hope to see you at SDCC!

Posted on July 13, 2011 by Camilla

It's so exciting to finally release the alternate cover image to the Grant Morrison documentary 'Talking with Gods' to all the fans online! We teased a picture of the cover as a work-in-progress a couple of weeks ago, but now you can see the final image below!

The image has already been making its way around the Internet, covered on awesome blogs like Super Punch and Dangerous Minds, and featured in the excellent interview with Camilla on the pop-culture website Guttersnipe.

If you're attending San Diego Comic-Con, the alternative cover edition of the DVD will be available at the Halo-8 booth (M-03) in the Small Press area, and you can find Camilla at booth 4723.

  • Customized Frank Kozik Happy Labbit for Stan Sakai Exhibit

Posted on July 11, 2011 by Camilla

If you didn't know, it's the Year of the Rabbit! And to help celebrate this special year the Japanese American National Museum is hosting a huge exhibit for Stan Sakai's 'Usagi Yojimbo' - one of the most well-respected comic book titles of all time, and a huge influence on Japanese American culture.

Check out photos of the exhibit at JANM, some of which come from GoGreenMachine.org, an awesome blog dedicated to 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' and all the news that surround the brand:

    sakaiturtles

Like 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,' Stan Sakai's 'Usagi Yojimbo' was part of the so called "Black & White" comic revolution in American during the 1980s that helped spawn more creator-owned rights.

    stanleesakai

Even the famous Marvel Comics editor Stan Lee contributed to the exhibit!

By now you're probably thinking, "That's cool, but what does that have to do with Camilla?!" Well, the museum has partnered with Kid Robot for an auction of originally customized Frank Kozik Happy Labbits, and Camilla is one of the contributing artists! Proceeds will go to help fund JANM, which is a great place to see amazing art.

The first image below is of a Labbit by Stan Sakai himself! The rest, by Camilla, are photos of a character called "Radioactive Puffin Juice." Hope you like them!

  • 'Womanthology' is a Huge Success!

Posted on July 10, 2011 by Camilla

    womanthologybanner

The success of 'Womanthology' is staggering. The all-female anthology's Kickstarter page has already been backed by nearly 1,000 people, and has raised nearly twice the amount needed for the original print run - almost $50,000 in two days!

With humble honor, Camilla will be partnering with Chicago writer Raven Moore for a short story in the charitable anthology. Look for more news here, on Facebook or Twitter, and around the web in the next few days for more details.

The book is being published through IDW, but all of the profits will go to benefit Global Giving, which will help distribute the money to as many charity projects around the world as possible. As a special incentive, those who contribute $150 to the project will receive a copy of the book with a sketch by Camilla; a great deal, since sketches alone go for the same amount at San Diego Comic-Con, but only 20 will be available. To learn more about the 'Womanthology' project, please visit the blog about the effort.
